Time Change, Pre-Election Confusion, Hoodies, “Swamis” Submissions, Sketches, and…

When I have some time on my hands, and I don’t have some device to get trapped/sucked into the void of YouTube, I sometimes do some drawing. Lately I’ve been sort of caught up in the odd social oddity of dogwalking; mostly with the requisite packing of a poop bag, sometimes empty, sometimes full, and how it affects the bearer of the poop’s attempt at maintaining dignity. SO VERY important!

ALSO, I don’t actually know if I’m early or if I’m late. My guess, late. I probably wouldn’t have colored in the sketches if I hadn’t been confused. NOW, about the upcoming election. I FUCKING VOTED, there’s not much more I can do but worry. And hope. And worry.

Confusion; YES. I just spent twenty minutes trying to figure out why I couldn’t upload this photo of ADAM ‘WIPEOUT’ JAMES and longtime Port Townsend-centered surfer, CODY CAPUTO, hanging out at the HAMA HAMA OYSTER COMPANY on Hood Canal. Cody was headed down SURF ROUTE 101, Adam was doing whatever he does (llike, everything), while sporting the latest ORIGINAL ERWIN design. THERE seems to be an event every weekend; this one related in some obscure way to Halloween.

“SWAMIS” NEWS- I heard about a publishing house in Seattle on KUOW, an NPR station. SO, I submitted a sample chapter and a little synopsis, AND I got a response, like, ‘sounds intriguing, tell us more.’ OKAY. I was hoping it wasn’t a vanity press, selling services, which, sadly, it might be. But, since writers are always forced to beg people to read, I took this as an exercise in actually trying to sell my novel re-re-re-edited a chapter, writing… stuff.

BECAUSE what I really want is to not self-publish, I will share my response: WAIT! I’M HAVING ANOTHER MELTDOWN! It’s not raining, I have a house to finish painting, there might be waves somewhere, the election’s way too close, time wise, and, by all reports, vote-wise. SO, I’ll get my shit together and talk about this on WEDNESDAY… unless I have a heart attack Tuesday night.

Thanks for checking out realsurfers. The sketches are, just because it’s proper, protected by copyright. All rights are reserved by… me, Erwin A. Dence, Jr. Hope you’re hitting some waves.

Take a breath.
