…to save America… except America. If America needs saving from tyrants and kings and dictators, from an amazingly accelerating descent from a nation OF and BY and FOR the people to yet another country ruled by yet another unrestrained, disgustingly amoral, self-professed strong man; yet another country of people governed by lies and intimidation; characterized by fraud and deceit, hatred and bigotry, carrots for those willing to submit, sticks for those who don’t, a willingness to ignore or even condone unspeakable cruelty… If that is where we are headed, pushed toward living our lives under the ridiculously hateful and freedom oppressing agenda, not in anyway a new idea, but one long promoted in America by haters who claim some religious right to hate, by those who will strike out against anyone claiming those pushing this agenda are not ‘good people… If easy success is given to profiteers and grifters and scammers and… and the rest of us, who, not yet forced to bend a knee, hold our breath, hold our tongues, wait, in hope, that the American experiment of democracy, always fragile, never perfect, might survive.

If we get another chance to vote, we should. Meanwhile, I’m doing the most American thing I can think of; I’m going to work.

Not that surfing or looking for surf is in any way unpatriotic.
